We did it!

Elthorne & Twyford NC are over the moon to work alongside Active Ealing for another year to provide opportunities for young people aged 11-18 to take part in the Europe's largest sporting event.
Open trials started back in March with over 60 athletes fighting for a space in the team. We were so pleased to offer space to not just club athletes but girls from across Middlesex netball clubs.

Sunday saw the U19s in action at the London youth games Finals at Crystal Palace.

Captained by Mya and Izzie, Ealing took to the court in the first round of matches and got their first win which settled them into the group stages. With only one loss in the group’s stages meant that Ealing had to wait and hear who qualified for the Semi-finals. In the last two years Ealing U19s have missed out based on goal difference so this was a nervous wait for the team and our supporters.

To our delight we qualified finishing 2nd in our group. After a fantastic Morning the team were to play 3 x champions gold medallists barking. The girls knew this game was going to be physical and fast against the experience Barking Squad. At half time the score was level. We knew if we wanted to reach the final that we had to go out there a display are own style. With the score going up and down in the second half no-one was giving up without a fight, with great defensive pressure and control within our attack we manged to get a 2 goal lead. The girls set themselves a team goal to be able to keep possession when it really matters. What happened next was first classed netball - So be sure to visit our social media to see the action.

Team Ealing secured a win over the 3 x champions and for the first time in LYG history Team Ealing made a netball final. Our Final was very similar to our semi-final performance but in the last few minutes of the game we were not able to get in our goals and lost our final to Croydon by 4 goals.

Even though we did not win there was no sadness just pure pride and happiness among the team and the supporters who was our 8th player throughout the day.

This year u19 squad improved on our 2018 placing and finished in 2nd Place.

We also would like to say Thank you and Goodbye to one of our most dedicated Ealing Athletes Mya who represented Ealing for 5 years. Achieved 3MVP , 4 top 10 finishes and a Bronze and Silver medal.

Thank You to Ayesha, Active Ealing, U14 squad, Schools & netball clubs across Ealing plus friends and families. You have supported us loads this year and we cannot thank you enough.
